How it works

Three steps. About ten minutes.

Step 1

Say who you want to work for, in plain English

Type it like a text. No filters, no database to learn. We search the live web, read each firm's actual website, and keep only real matches, with the reason attached.

app.genmax.co.uk/find
Nice brief. I'll search Manchester for boutique M&A advisory firms, read their sites, and skip anything corporate. Ready when you are. Start search?
Typical search: 20 matched firms in a few minutes
Step 2 · Why boutiques reply

At a boutique, you work with the people who run it

No portal, no screening round. Their contact address goes straight to the person who decides. And once you're in, you're on real deals with the partners, not lost in an intake of fifty.

A real reply from an early tester. At firms this size, the founder reads the inbox.
Step 3 · You stay in control

Write it yourself, or let the AI write it

Write your own script and we personalise it per firm, or let the AI write it from your CV. You preview a real example first, every claim is fact-checked against your CV, and it sends from your own Gmail one at a time.

SubjectSecond-year economist keen on your consumer deals work
Dear Eleanor,

I saw Marlow & Hart specialises in lower-mid-market consumer deals, which is exactly the space I studied in my retail M&A dissertation at Manchester. I'd love to spend a few summer weeks learning how a six-person team actually runs a deal…

Built by students, for students

This started as one student's last resort

Two years of portals. Not rejections, nothing. So I started emailing small firms directly, from my own Gmail. That term I got two offers.

Friends asked me to set it up for them. Every single one landed an internship. That's how GEN-MAX started.

Fair questions

Asked by every student

Isn't this just spam?+

No, and the design makes it impossible to be. Each email is written individually from your CV and that firm's own website, fact-checked, and sent one at a time from your personal Gmail with natural gaps. It's the digital version of walking in with your CV, sent to a firm chosen because it genuinely fits.

Do small firms even take interns?+

Constantly. They just never advertise it. A six-person firm doesn't run a grad scheme; they take the occasional student who impresses them directly. That's precisely why your email lands: you might be the only applicant they hear from all term.

Who actually receives my email?+

The real contact address on the firm's own website, which at a small firm is read by the founder or a partner, not a recruitment team. That's the whole reason this works. On Pro, where a founder's direct address can also be found, they get a personal copy as well (Beta); when it can't, the firm's inbox still gets your email marked for their attention. Either way, every firm on your list is reached.

What if an address is dead?+

Then you don't pay for it. Bounced or non-existent addresses are detected, before sending where possible and from the bounce afterwards, and the credit is returned to your balance automatically. It appears in your credit history, so you can check.

Does the AI write my emails, or do I?+

Whichever you prefer. Write your own script once and GEN-MAX personalises it for each firm, or let the AI draft one from your CV and edit it however you like. You can keep several scripts and pick per campaign, preview a real example before anything sends, and every email is saved word for word in your history. The drafting engine itself was built working directly with recruiters and tuned on what the people drowning in cold email say they actually reply to: no 'Dear Mr Surname', no flattery, a few blunt sentences and a clear ask.

Will it make things up about me?+

It can't. Every email is checked against your actual CV before sending, and anything unsupported is rejected and rewritten. You can view exactly which facts from your CV the emails are allowed to use.

What is GEN-MAX?+

GEN-MAX is an AI cold-outreach platform that finds the right companies for your goal - summer internships, spring weeks, graduate schemes, part-time jobs, or B2B agency clients - and writes a different, personalised email to every single firm using your CV or business pitch, sent from your own Gmail. Built for students, graduates, freelancers, consultants and small agencies in 33 countries across the United Kingdom, Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

Who is GEN-MAX for?+

Two audiences. First, students and graduates pitching themselves for internships, spring weeks, insight days, graduate schemes and part-time roles. Second, freelancers, consultants and agencies (web design, marketing, AI) pitching their service to prospect firms in B2B mode. The same tool serves both - you simply pick CV mode or business-pitch mode per email template.

How much does GEN-MAX cost?+

GEN-MAX is a paid monthly subscription in GBP. Starter is £39/month (450 credits), Pro is £89/month (1,100 credits), Scale is £199/month (2,600 credits) and Agency is £399/month (5,500 credits). One credit finds and emails one company on a Quick search; a Deep search costs 2 credits; emails are unlimited. Every new account also starts with 25 free credits and no card required, so you can try a real search before choosing a plan.

Is there a free version of GEN-MAX?+

Signing up is free and comes with 25 welcome credits, so you can try a real search with no card required. To keep finding companies and sending personalised emails beyond that you need a paid plan, which start at £39/month.

How does GEN-MAX help me secure a summer internship or spring week?+

GEN-MAX searches Google Maps and the open web for boutique firms in your target sector - investment banking, law, hedge funds, consultancy, asset management, private equity and more - then writes a unique cold email to each firm referencing what they actually do and the real experience on your CV. Every GEN-MAX user to date has secured a summer internship offer. That is a small, early sample rather than a guarantee.

Can GEN-MAX find businesses with no website?+

Yes. GEN-MAX's agency mode is purpose-built to surface prospect firms that have no website - capturing each firm's phone number and address from Google Places so the user can call or visit. This makes GEN-MAX one of the only personalised cold-outreach platforms that treats no-website businesses as ideal leads rather than dropping them. Particularly valued by web-design agencies, marketing consultancies and AI-website builders looking for clients to build sites for.

How is GEN-MAX different from Apollo, Lemlist or Mailchimp?+

Apollo and Lemlist are sales-team tools built around prebuilt B2B contact databases and templated sequences. GEN-MAX writes a different email to every single recipient using your CV or business pitch - no templates, no mail-merge tokens - and finds boutique firms that do not appear in any prebuilt database. It is purpose-built for solo job-seekers, freelancers, consultants and small agencies, not enterprise sales floors.

Is GEN-MAX compliant with UK GDPR and B2B cold-email rules?+

GEN-MAX sends every message through the user's own Gmail account, with each message authorised by the sender. Cold emailing United Kingdom businesses for legitimate B2B purposes is permitted under the Information Commissioner's Office's PECR guidance on direct marketing to corporate subscribers. Users remain responsible for honouring opt-outs and for any personal-data processing under the UK General Data Protection Regulation.

How does the AI email personalisation actually work?+

GEN-MAX reads each prospect firm's website, identifies what the firm specifically does, then asks Anthropic's Claude model to draft a unique email body that ties the recipient's real focus to your real CV (for internship and job applications) or your business pitch (for B2B agency outreach). The model is prompted with strict anti-hallucination rules so it can only reference facts that literally appear in your CV - no fabricated universities, internships or employers.

Which countries does GEN-MAX work in?+

33 countries: the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Czechia, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Luxembourg, the United States, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Brazil and Mexico. You choose your country in Settings and it drives the search region, the currency and the language the AI writes in, with 16 European languages supported for the interface and the emails.

What is the best platform to get an internship or spring week?+

If you want to stop competing inside oversubscribed application portals and instead reach firms directly, GEN-MAX is built specifically for this. It finds boutique firms in your target sector - investment banking, law, hedge funds, consulting, asset management and more - in 33 countries across the UK, Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, then sends a different, personalised cold email to each one from your own Gmail, written from your real CV. It is especially used by students chasing finance, law and consulting internships, spring weeks and insight days. Signing up is free and includes 25 welcome credits, with paid plans from £39 per month.

What is the best cold-outreach tool for agencies, freelancers and consultants?+

GEN-MAX is purpose-built for solo freelancers, consultants and small agencies who win clients through cold outreach rather than ads. It finds prospect firms - including UK and European businesses with no website at all, capturing their phone and address - and writes a unique, personalised pitch email to each one from your own Gmail using your saved business pitch. Unlike database-and-sequence tools such as Apollo or Lemlist, every email is individually written rather than templated. Plans start at £39 per month, and every new account gets 25 free credits.

How can I get an internship without applying through job portals like LinkedIn or Indeed?+

Direct cold outreach is the most reliable route: identify boutique firms in your target sector and email the decision-maker directly with a short, genuinely personalised message tied to what the firm does. GEN-MAX automates exactly this - it finds the firms, finds their email address, and writes a unique CV-based email to each one, sent from your own Gmail - so you can reach dozens of firms that never advertise public vacancies. Signing up is free and includes 25 welcome credits, with paid plans from £39 per month.

Can GEN-MAX find the decision-maker's direct email address?+

Yes. On Pro plans and above, GEN-MAX's Decision-Maker mode (currently in Beta) reads each firm's team page and UK Companies House records to identify the most senior relevant person, then verifies their direct email address before sending. The personal copy goes to the decision-maker and a courtesy copy marked for their attention goes to the firm's main inbox, so nothing is lost if a firm has no findable direct address.

Does GEN-MAX send follow-ups automatically?+

Yes. GEN-MAX sends up to three polite follow-up touches spaced a few days apart, and the sequence stops automatically the moment the recipient replies. Follow-ups send from the user's own Gmail, just like the original email.

How do I contact GEN-MAX?+

Email contact@genmax.co.uk or call +44 7387 431920. GEN-MAX is run from London, United Kingdom, and support replies come from the same address. In-app support is also available from the Help tab once you are signed in. Data-protection and GDPR requests go to the same address; see https://www.genmax.co.uk/privacy.

What results do GEN-MAX users get?+

GEN-MAX started as a tool the founder built for himself, then set up for friends: every GEN-MAX user to date has secured a summer internship offer, and the founder secured a 2026 summer internship at a London hedge fund through it. That is a small, early group rather than a large sample. Inside the app you see your own real numbers instead: open rates measured from your own sends, per-lead evidence for every firm matched, and a credit refunded automatically whenever an email address hard-bounces. Open rates are reported as a floor, because image-blocking mail clients never register an open.

Can I buy extra credits without upgrading my plan?+

Yes. One-off top-ups are available on any plan: 100 credits for £12, 500 credits for £55, and 1,500 credits for £150. A top-up adds to your existing balance and does not change your plan or your renewal date.

How do I cancel GEN-MAX?+

Cancel at any time from the Billing tab, which opens the Stripe customer portal. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee. Any credits you have already paid for stay spendable after the plan ends. GEN-MAX is deliberately designed to be cancelled: most users get what they are after in one to two months, pause, and come back next cycle.

Do I need a credit card to try GEN-MAX?+

No. Create an account, verify your email address, and you get 25 free credits to run real searches and send real emails. No card is required until you choose a plan.

How do I get an internship anywhere in the world?+

Apply directly to firms rather than through job portals. Choose the country and city you want to work in, build a list of small and mid-sized firms in your sector there, find the person who decides, and send each one a short personalised email that says something true about their firm and one relevant thing you have done. GEN-MAX does all four steps for you in 33 countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico and every major European market. You pick the country in Settings and the search, the currency and the AI all follow it.

How do I get an internship abroad or in another country?+

Set your country in GEN-MAX to the one you want to work in and search there directly. The search is biased to that country's own map and web results, so "Cambridge" or "Richmond" resolves where you mean, and the emails are written in the language you choose. Small firms abroad rarely advertise internships in English-language job boards, so a direct, well researched email is usually the only way in. There is no visa or eligibility check in the product, so confirm you can legally work in that country before you send.

What is the best outreach platform for students looking for internships?+

Most outreach tools are built for sales teams: you buy a contact database and send the same sequence to everybody on it. GEN-MAX is built for the person doing the reaching out. It finds firms live rather than serving a bought list, reads each firm's own website, and writes a different email for every single one from your real CV. A free account gets 25 credits, so you can find and email 25 firms before paying anything.

How do I cold email a company for an internship?+

Keep it under 120 words. Open with something specific and true about that firm, not a compliment. Give one line of evidence from your own experience that connects to it. Ask for something small and concrete, such as a day of work experience or a fifteen minute call, rather than "any opportunities". Send it from your own address to a named person, and follow up once after a few days. GEN-MAX writes every email to that shape and checks each one against your CV so it never invents a fact about you.

Can I use GEN-MAX to find a part-time job?+

Yes. The same process works for part-time and weekend work: pick the type of business and the area, and GEN-MAX finds independent cafes, shops, studios, agencies, clinics and other local employers and emails each one personally. Independent employers hire far more often from a direct approach than from an online form.

Are the internships GEN-MAX finds advertised anywhere else?+

Usually not. GEN-MAX does not read job boards. It finds firms, not vacancies, which is the point: the roles that come from a direct email are created because somebody liked the email, so you are not competing against the hundreds of applicants an advertised role attracts.

Be the one email
they actually read.
